Six days in Sydney

10:00 hours dropped bags hotel and was informed that my room would not be ready until 14:00 hours.

I decided to explore the tourist attractions that were close to my hotel.

I selected as my first destination paddy’s Market. This is a fairly traditional market that has been buried beneath a modern shopping mall. I was unable to decide what the market most reminded me of a car park or a series of sewerage pipes. The façade of the building is quite pleasant but the actual market environment is a disappointment. The majority of the products seem to have been freshly imported from overseas. The diverse range of stallholders was a testament to the multicultural character of Sydney. I could find nothing amongst the multitude of stalls that I wanted or needed.

I took a series of photographs and avoided being seen doing so by a security guards. I continued to do so until I was approached by strange man who said he had just been growled at for taking photographs. I laughed and explained that I was not overly concerned and that I doubted that they could make me delete them. I continued on my way until the same man approached me again and told me that he had just purchased a samurai sword which he had poking out of his backpack and he said that that the police may consider it a concealed weapon. He asked if the sword was secure and I checked and confirmed that it was. He then said that since I had been nice enough to do this for him would I like to come and get stoned and drunk with him and once we were intoxicated we could walk around laughing at people. I declined the kind offer thinking to myself that getting stoned with a Stanger who is carrying a samurai sword seems to be a high risk activity

11:30Walked into some Chinese food court and selected what appeared to be the best choice of food.
